Well, hello! I know you’re probably busy being your fabulous, smart, and perfect self by now, but I couldn’t wait another minute to write you this letter. I’m just so excited to meet you. I mean, for real, I’m a little jealous of how cool you must be, but also. proud. You’ve made it through all the ups, downs, twists, and turns—and look at you now.
How are you? Are we now eating that well-balanced diet we promised ourselves to do, or are we still living on coffee and whatever happens to be lingering in the fridge at 2 a.m.? You know, I was thinking the other day about how we used to promise ourselves that we’d learn to cook better. Did we ever even manage to cook that fancy meal, or is “fancy dinner” just getting takeout with a side of self-love? Either way, I’m sure you’ve probably figured out how to juggle it all with poise, while still having room for dessert. (I’m holding you to that!)
I hope when you read this, you’re living the sort of life where there are touches of little pleasures that we’ve always dreamed about: impromptu dance parties in the living room, spur-of-the-moment road trips, belly-laughing moments, and, yes, cozy mornings in bed with a cup of tea. You deserve it. You’ve earned it. You’ve learned how to roll with the flow of life, even when life is as whimsical as a cat on a hot tin roof.
Do you ever just sit back and think about how far we’ve gotten and go, “Wow, I’m doing this!” I hope so. I hope you’re proud of every single step, even the bad ones because they’ve led you to where you are today. (And don’t even get me started on how much better we are at adulting at this point! I’m sure you’ve perfected how to keep plants alive now, right?)
I wish your heart were full of all the adventure, peace, and love that you deserve. If you’re not exactly where you thought you’d be, that’s okay. We are always changing, and the mere fact that you’re still out there, loving yourself a little more with every passing day, growing and surviving—that’s the win.
So, future you, this: I’m leaving you all of my hope, my laugh, and all the positive vibes I have to give. I hope you’ve continued to keep the dreamer alive within you, kept the flame burning bright, and never lost hope that the good days are ahead. Because they will be. You’re the harvest of everything we’ve sowed, and I can hardly wait to see just how amazing you are. Keep shining, keep laughing, and keep being that beautiful, hard, and bold person that I know you are.
And when you get a chance, kindly let me know how to arrive earlier, because waiting is so hard. ????
With all the love, expectation, and infinite hope in YOU,
Lots of Love You (but better in the future)

Kind Regards
